The Public Schools must educate “everyone,” regardless of the contextual challenges. Public Schools are our most noble experiment in democracy.
Along the way, each of us has been mentored for leadership and now we would live out our gratitude, by helping others, who come after us, so that they may become contributing citizens, themselves, beyond any athletic glory days.

How Do I “Pay It Forward ” for My Community?
We start here! Giving tribute to the original, six African American Athletic Directors in the Atlanta Public Schools (APS), whose ideas, leadership and ingenuity have propelled APS sports and education to new pinnacles of excellence.
Leslie C. “Chief” Baker – Booker T. Washington
T. Herman Graves – David T. Howard
Alexander G. Shephard – George Washington Carver
John “Coach” Merkerson – Luther Judson Price
Raymond “Tweet” Williams – Henry McNeal Turner
Raymond Anderson Wainwright, Sr.
– Samuel Howard Archer
As we have learned from these Leaders, we would now commit our energies to Mentoring Others.
